Only current Individual, Corporate, and Student members can use the library services and access the library resources.
A member is entitled to borrow a maximum of six items (print and/or non-print media) from the library.
Students and Individual Members
Students and Individual members are required to produce their SIM Student E-card or SIM Membership card for any library transactions.
A friendly reminder will be sent three days prior to the stipulated due date to the member's registered email address.
As membership cards are non-transferable, members who wise to authorise a representative to carry out any library transaction on their behalf are required to provide a letter of authorisation.
Corporate Members
An employee of a company that is a Corporate Member is eligible to enjoy library privileges and only needs to register with the library during his/her initial visit.
To register, an employee is required to produce his/her staff identification pass (with photograph) in order to authenticate your employment with the company.
For subsequent visits, the employee needs to present their staff identification pass to borrow books.

Returning the Items
Kindly return your items via the automated book-drop at the entrance of Tay Eng Soon Library or at the library counter itself.
Renewal and Reservation of Items
Renewals and Reservation of items are a free library service. Renewals can be done via My Library Account while reservations can be done via the online library catalogue. Either of these can also be done
via E-mail, telephone, or at the library counter itself.
Renewals
A maximum of two renewals are allowed for books and
audio materials unless there is a prior reservation for the items.
All items in the
Loan Collections may be renewed with the exception of books in the
Recommended Course Collection (RCC) which are for short-term loan only.
Reservations
Only items that are on loan may be reserved. A maximum of four books may be reserved under a member's account at any given time.
Upon availability of the reserved books, our librarians will inform the members via E-mail. Reserved books will be held for a maximum of three days after which the reservation will expire and the book(s) will be shelved.
Overdue Fines
All loans are deemed valid until
they are returned. Fines are charged as a deterrent to ensure that members are prompt in returning their books. When items are overdue, notices will be
sent via E-mail to notify members.
Fines are not charged for Sundays, Public Holidays or days on which the
libraries are closed. Payment methods are via CashCard or NETS at the circulation counter.

Damage/Loss of Library Materials
Members are required to report damaged or loss of
library materials immediately to the library. Members are liable to pay for
the current cost of the book plus an administrative fee of $16.05 (inclusive of
7% GST).
Out of print books will be charged at a flat rate of $100
(inclusive of 7% GST).
Borrowing on Behalf
Members who wish to authorize another person to
borrow on their behalf may download the
Loan Authorisation Form.
Rental of Devices (Camcorder, iPad, Portable Projector and Notebook)
Devices are available for
rent from the libraries for our members' convenience. Each member is
allowed to rent notebooks, iPads and portable projector for free for only four hours and the camcorder for only six hours per day. Thereafter, a charge of $2.00 is
applicable per hour.
There are a limited number of devices so rental is on a
first-come-first-served basis.
